Our story: The heart of Northland Pickers
Discover the journey that shaped Northland Pickers, a business built on passion, experience, and a deep commitment to our community in Northland, New Zealand.

From project management to Northland Pickers
When my latest project management role concluded, I saw a unique gap in the market. I realised I could combine my trade knowledge, logistical expertise, and site management skills to pursue something I'm truly passionate about. I wanted to get out, engage with my local community, and build a business that benefits everyone. With the rising cost of living, financial times are tough for many.
Northland Pickers allows me to rescue pre-loved items, find them new homes, and provide well-priced goods to those who need them. Whether you're looking to declutter, downsize, or find a unique piece for your home, Northland Pickers is here to help.

The journey to Northland Pickers
Our story is built on a lifetime of hard work, hands-on experience, and a deep connection to the Northland region.
The trades (15 years)
I started my working life as a joiner, spending a decade and a half mastering the craft of woodworking, understanding structural integrity, and appreciating the value of quality materials and craftsmanship.
Maritime logistics (10 years)
Seeking a new challenge, I moved into shift management as a stevedore, loading and discharging vessels all over New Zealand. This honed my skills in logistics, heavy lifting, site safety, and efficient transport.
Project management
I eventually transitioned into residential project management and commercial site supervisor roles, overseeing builds from the ground up, managing complex teams, and ensuring attention to detail. This diverse background allows Northland Pickers to offer a unique perspective and unparalleled service in the second-hand market.
